I met Fleet when KJ Hax hooked me up with him when I expressed interest in a place on EduIsland II (which quickly developed into a collaborative ventrue with KJ and SLolar Central was born!). Not only is he a wonderful individual (kind, responsive, my list could go on), but he's an amazing island manager. Web 'Cubed'

[This post is 'cross-posted'.]

O.K. So I've been thinking about this for a while and finally decided to put my thoughts to blog.

You know how the web is considered by most to be the 'read/write' web? I don't think that is applicable any more and would like to offer a new paradigm. I think we need to view the web as 'cubed'. Instead of 'read', we should look at 'consume', because, let's face it we don't only 'read' on the web anymore since 'read' implies text. As for 'write', we should look at 'contribute', since again, 'write' implies text and we now have the ability to 'write' images, videos, audio, etc. And we have a new component -- 'collaborate', since so many of the new applications are social in nature and provide the ability to work with others.

So here's my new slogan: 'Web 'Cubed' -- consume, contribute, collaborate'. [And if anyone can figure out how to get the exponent '3' onto a blog, PLEASE let me know!] [Actually I would like to see it 'Web', then the letter 'C', then the exponent '3'. Help!]

What are your thoughts on this?

Laelia's Purple Hairstyles in SL...The Movie

That's right folks! As you are well aware, my 'signature' style in SL is my purple hair, from demure (well some of them are!!!) to downright funky, if it's purple, I GOTTA have it!

Riptide Furse, the DEN in SL Leadership Council Chair, shared a short clip he made and I took up the challenge. It LITERALLY took me all of 3 minutes to create. Hope you enjoy it!

The HairStyles of Laelia

Interested in making one of your own? Check out the website Animoto. And do us all a favor. If you create a video please post the link in the 'Comments' area below. I would LOVE to see the creative side of my readers.

See It?, Like It?, BUY IT!!!

Things get moved around in SL alot. I'm used to it by now. When last week I tp.ed to a friend's house I landed on their welcome mat. This week, when I tp.ed, I landed in their tub (don't ask!!! LOL). And sometimes, things that were there -- aren't.

I was cleaning out my Inventory (have you cleaned out YOUR inventory lately? -- then go do it!) and sorting thru my 'Landmarks - Shopping' folder (yes, I have a separate landmarks folder for shopping, don't you? LOL) and was teleporting here and teleporting there to see if I really still needed to clutter my inventory with all those landmarks. Well, I tp.ed to my favorite office furniture store, Lemon Design, and what do I find???? These HUGE rental boxes ALL over the space!!! I tried doing a search, but to no avail. They just UP AND LEFT!!! Not even a 'We're leaving thansk for being such a great customer' notecard or anything! How rude is that!?!

So now I know...if I see it, and I like it, I'm gonna BUY IT!!! Cause it just might not be there the next time...

On that note, I'm heading in-world...Gurlywood just got in some new hairstyles (I know, I know...I said NO MORE HAIR!!! But these are just tooooooo cute to pass up.) and lilolOops has this fabulous tulip dress with a red lace petticoat that I might need for the DEN in SL Premiere Gala Event on August 15th at 5:30 p.m. SLT.
